Miriam Sved is the author of two novels: A Universe of Sufficient Size, which was shortlisted for the 2020 Colin Roderick Award, and Game Day. Her short fiction has been published widely. She is a co-editor of three feminist anthologies, including #MeToo: Stories from the Australian Movement. She lives in Melbourne on Wurundjeri country.

FictionShe’d seen her mother a couple of times since the lockdown ended, but it was still a shock. Margaret had lost some vital density that seemed ethereal, although it was obviously about her body – the protruding cheekbones, eyes sunk too deep in her head and hair a wispy cap across her scalp.
