Marie Darrieussecq was born in Bayonne, France, and lives in Paris.
Pig Tales (1996) was published in thirty-four countries and became the most popular debut novel in France since the 1950s.
Her other novels include My Phantom Husband (1998) and A Brief Stay with the Living (2001). In 2009 the best-selling Tom Is Dead was published by Text.
