Gaiutra Bahadur

Gaiutra Bahadur is an American writer. Her narrative history, Coolie Woman: The Odyssey of Indenture (University of Chicago Press, 2013), was shortlisted for the 2014 Orwell Prize. She is the recipient of residencies or fellowships from the MacDowell Colony, Harvard and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center in Italy, among others.
