Damen O’Brien is a multi-award-winning poet based in Brisbane. His awards include The Moth Poetry Prize, the Peter Porter Poetry Prize and the Val Vallis Award. His poems have been published in many journals, including Overland, Island, Southerly, Westerly and Meanjin. His first collection of poetry, Animals with Human Voices, is published by Recent Work Press
