Arabella Edge read English Literature at Bristol University and came out to Australia in 1992. She is the author of three works of historical fiction.

Her debut, The Company (Simon and Schuster, 2001) won Best First Book in the 2001 Commonwealth Writers Prize in the South Pacific region, and was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award 2001.

Her second novel, The Raft (Picador) was published in 2005, and Fields of Ice (Picador) came out in 2011.

She lives with her husband Nick Gaze in Bicheno on Tasmania’s east coast and is currently working on a memoir of her experiences there.
