Ellie Rennie is based at Swinburne University’s Institute for Social Research, working in the areas of media policy and community communication.

In mid-2008 she commenced work on a three year project, The Reinvention of Indigenous Media: Innovation, Expansion and Social Development, funded by the Australian Research Council (Discovery, APD). Ellie is also an associate researcher on Youthworx, which forms part of CCI’s core program.

Her second book, Life of SYN: A Story of the Digital Generation, is due for release in 2009. Community Media: A Global Introduction, was published by Rowman & Littlefield (US) in 2006.
