Katie Shammas is from the Galilee, Palestine, and lives on Darug Country in north-west Sydney. Katie is a member of Sweatshop Literacy Movement and Arab Theatre Studio. Her writing has been published in Love (Sweatshop, 2025), Overland, Meanjin, POVO (Sweatshop, 2024), Kindling and Sage and Going Down Swinging. She has performed for Cement Fondu’s Better Nature, Word Travels’ Chasing Home and Red Room Poetry’s Speak Australian.
