They’ll investigate the rise of the far right and the fall of mass politics – and offer a refreshing new perspective on the housing crisis through collage and poetry.
Shahar Hameiri is Professor of International Politics and Australian Research Council Future Fellow in the School of Political Science and International Studies, University of Queensland. He is co-author, most recently, of The Locked-Up Country: Learning the Lessons from Australia’s COVID-19 Response (UQP, 2023).
Pascalle Burton is a Meanjin-based experimental poet and performer with an interest in conceptual art and cultural theory. Her collection About the Author Is Dead is available through Cordite Books. She also plays in the band The Stress of Leisure.
Ella Jeffery’s debut collection, Dead Bolt, won the Puncher & Wattmann First Book of Poetry Prize, was shortlisted for the Dame Mary Gilmore Award and won the Anne Elder Award. Her poetry has appeared extensively, including in Best Australian Poems, HEAT, Meanjin and Island.
Carody Culver is the editor of Griffith Review. She has written for publications including Sydney Review of Books, Kill Your Darlings, The Lifted Brow and Books+Publishing. Her chapbook, The Morgue I Think the Deader It Gets, was published by Cordite in 2022, and she’s been a featured Australian poet on the Best American Poetry blog.
