Westerly Launch Event tile

It is with pleasure that we invite you to the launch of Westerly 68.2! This issue is marked by reverberations—whether as relationships, as echoes or as impacts.

The launch will also be celebrate the release of the latest Online Special Issue: OSI14: djinda. Guest edited by Elfie Shiosaki, this issue presents a reflective collaboration between five poets on the theme of ‘djinda’, a Noongar language word from the southwest region of Australia for the stars.

Alongside, Westerly and Griffith Review are celebrating our friendship! To do so, we will be joined at the launch by Richard King, who will be reading from his essay ‘The Defence: chess v. artificial intelligence’, published in Griffith Review 81: The Leisure Principle.

The issue also includes pieces from our Writers’ Development Program participants, Aditi Arun, Ana Brawls and Kirwan Henry, and from our Mid-Career Fellows, Brooke Dunnell and Miriam Wei Wei Lo.

The event will also be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person. Should you wish to attend online, please select the ticket option for online attendees, and be advised that speeches will begin at approximately 6:15pm (AWST) / 4.15pm (AEST).
