About the panel

Jo Chandler is an award-winning journalist, author and journalism educator at the Centre for Advancing Journalism, University of Melbourne. 

Coen Hird is trawlwoolway pakana connected to north-east lutruwita/trowunna. He is a researcher and teacher at the University of Queensland focused on ecology, climate-change biology and conservation. 

Favel Parrett’s debut novel, Past the Shallows, was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award and won the Dobbie Literary Award. There was Still Love, her third novel, was shortlisted for the Stella Prize and won Book of the Year in the 2020 Indie Book Awards. 


Real Cool World also features new work from James Bradley, Jesse Blackadder, Kim Ellis, Drew Rooke, Nicole Webster, Claire G Coleman and many others.
