Susan Johnson was born in Brisbane but grew up in Sydney.

She spent her early adulthood in Brisbane and has recently returned to live there, after ten years in London.

She is the author of eight books, six novels and two non-fiction works, variously published in Australia, UK, USA and in European translation.
