Lea McInerney's work has been published in Cordite, Meanjin, Southerly, Westerly and Australian Poetry Anthology 2015.

She grew grew up in Clare, South Australia, lived in Tasmania for many years, and is now based in Melbourne. 

In the 1980s she worked as a registered nurse and palliative care specialist, and in the 1990s in the public sector in healthcare and community services policy. Since 2003 she has combined writing with freelance work as a policy and organisation development specialist.
