Esa Laaksonen

Esa Laaksonen is a Finnish architect and art critic. He was the first director of the Alvar Aalto Academy (1999–2020). He has a practice in Helsinki together with the architect Kimmo Friman.

He has received twenty-­nine prizes (six first prizes) in national and international competitions for architecture and has taught architecture at the University of Technology (Aalto University) in Helsinki, and around the world.
