Ellah Wakatama Allfrey

Ellah Wakatama Allfrey OBE was born in Zimbabwe and raised both there and in the US. She is the former deputy editor of Granta and was senior editor at Jonathan Cape. Her journalism has appeared in publications including The Guardian, The Spectator and The Daily Telegraph. She is the editor of Safe House: Explorations in Creative Nonfiction (Cassava Republic, 2016) and Africa39 (Bloomsbury, 2014). She lives in London and is publishing director at The Indigo Press.
