Anna Kessel is a sports writer for The Guardian and The Observer. Her book Eat Sweat Play (Macmillan, 2016) was longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award in 2016. She was awarded an MBE for services to journalism and women’s sport in the Queen’s birthday honours in 2016. She is co-founder and chair of Women in Football, which supports women working in the football industry. In 2017 she launched the Blue Plaque Rebellion, with the Women’s Sports Trust, a campaign to unearth the hidden histories in women’s sport.
