Alan Finkel AO is Australia’s eighth Chief Scientist. He founded the ASX-listed biomedical company Axon Instruments, and served as chancellor of Monash University and president of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering. In 2017, he delivered the Blueprint for the Future Security of the National Electricity Market. Dr Finkel writes regularly on science, technology and society, and helped establish Cosmos magazine in 2004.
