Urvashi Butalia

Urvashi Butalia is an Indian publisher, writer and feminist. She founded Kali for Women in 1984, India’s first feminist publishing house, and went on to found Zubaan Books in 2003. Her book, The Other Side of Silence: Voices from the Partition of India (Viking Penguin India, 1998), won the Oral History Book Association Award, and the Nikkei Asia Award for Culture.
