Liam Davison (1957–2014) has published four novels, two collections of short fiction and a book of essays and creative non-fiction.

He received the National Book Council Award for Fiction for his novel Soundings and was the recipient of the James Joyce Foundation award for writing.

His work has been widely anthologised. He was a regular contributor to the books pages of The Australian and the Best Australian Stories series.

Very sadly, Liam and his wife Frankie were passengers aboard Malaysia Airlines flight 17, which was shot down over the Ukraine near the Russian border on 17 July 2014.
