Kent MacCarter, a US expatriate, is now a permanent resident in Melbourne with his wife and two cats. Answering the question ‘Where are you from?’ is always difficult.
ln the Hungry Middle of Here (Transit Lounge Press) is his first collection of poetry. The collection navigates the world, seeking sound, texture and taste that characterise its parts. His work has previously appeared in Meanjin, Overland, Wet Ink, Canberra Times, The Age, Cordite and Best Australian Poems 2009.
He currently sits on the executive board of SPUNC: The Small Press Network and is an active member in Melbourne PEN.
