Kate Ryan is an editor and writer. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including New Australian Writing 2, The Sleepers Almanac, Kill Your Darlings, TEXT Journal and Best Australian Stories (Black Inc., 2016).

Her illustrated books for children have been published by both Penguin and Lothian. Her short stories were shortlisted for the 2015 Josephine Ulrick Award and longlisted for the 2016 Elizabeth Jolley Prize. 

Her essay ‘Psychotherapy for Normal People’ won the 2015 Melbourne Prize for Literature.
