Iryna Skubii is a historian and the inaugural Mykola Zerov Fellow in Ukrainian Studies at the University of Melbourne. She studies the environment, consumption and materialities in Soviet Ukraine. She is currently working on the book Survival Under Extremes: Human, Environmental, and Material Relationships Amidst the Soviet Famines in Ukraine and a project on the global history of sunflowers in Ukraine.
