Alec Coles is the chief executive officer of the Western Australian Museum and an adjunct associate professor in the School of Social Sciences at The University of Western Australia.

He is vice chair of ICOM Australia and a member of the executive of the Council for Australasian Museum Directors.

He is leading the Western Australian Museum into the most significant development in its history.
